Austrian Airlines yesterday (26 October) launched services to the Seychelles, arriving at Pointe Larue Interational Airport.

The airline will operate the direct service from Vienna to Seychelles with a weekly flight every Thursday during its winter operating season.

The launch of the flights comes after an initial agreement and discussions in 2014 which have resulted in the signing of the air service agreement between the Republic of Seychelles and the Austrian federal government in May this year.

Austrian Airlines, which forms part of the Lufthansa group, is Seychelles’ third direct non-stop air service between Europe and Seychelles after Air Seychelles’ three non-stop flights to Paris and Condor’s two non-stop flights to Frankfurt.
