Avani Hotels & Resorts is part of Minor Hotels, has announced that the Avani Bel-Ombré Mauritius Resort & Spa will open its doors to guests during 2019 – two years earlier than originally anticipated.
The resort is being constructed along a stretch of the island’s southern coast, roughly 30 minutes from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport.
What will make this particular resort standout is that it is aimed at millennial-minded travellers seeking a unique travel experience.
The 150-room beachfront hotel will offer accommodation in 134 standard rooms, 16 suites, and 12 four-bedroom residential (offer-for-purchase) pool villas. Meeting facilities will be able to handle a range of events – from MICE bookings, to weddings and other celebratory functions. Other facilities include a gym, six-room spa, children’s entertainment area, boathouse, pool bar and two restaurants.
The group has further expansion plans, says Minor Hotels’ regional director, Sir Richard Hawkins. “Avani is rapidly expanding in urban destinations such as Dubai, Busan and Auckland, but we are also growing our current resort portfolio in Vietnam, the Seychelles, Sri Lanka and now Mauritius.”
Avani Hotels & Resorts already has a presence in Southern Africa operating under its Avani and Anantara hotel brands in Mozambique, Zambia, Namibia, Lesotho and Botswana.
