Ethiopian Airlines to launch direct Zanzibar flights

Effective December this year, Ethiopian Airlines will introduce thrice weekly direct flights from Addis Ababa to Zanzibar on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The airline currently operates a daily flight to Zanzibar via Kilimanjaro.

The announcement was made when the airline deployed its newly acquired B787-9 to the destination, adding that the deployment of the aircraft forms part of its commitment to service Africa with the most advanced and latest technology aircraft the industry has to offer.The airline started operation in Tanzania about two decades ago.

Ethiopian Airlines Sales Manager (Zanzibar) Mohammed Mansour said that the airline is expanding its route network to widely introduce Africa and its untapped tourist attractions to the rest of the world and to further redefine passengers’ travel experience on board the airline.

Ethiopian is currently implementing a 15-year strategic plan called Vision 2025 that will see it become the leading aviation group in Africa with seven business centers: Ethiopian Express & Ancillary Services; Ethiopian International Services; Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services; Ethiopian MRO Services; Ethiopian Aviation Academy; ET In-flight Catering; and Ethiopian Ground Services.
