Ethiopian to link Buenos Aires to Africa

Ethiopian Airlines, finalised preparations to start five weekly flights to Buenos Aires, Argentina, effective 8 March, 2018.

Buenos Aires will become the airline’s 6th destination in the Americas as it already offers services to Washington, New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, and São Paulo.

Group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, Tewolde GebreMariam, said, “We are glad to add Buenos Aires, our 6th gateway to the Americas, to our extensive global network. Our new flight to Buenos Aires will provide efficient connections to our network in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, including Beijing, Shanghai, Seoul, Tokyo, Mumbai, Delhi, Dubai, Beirut, Nairobi, and Cairo.

Hed added that on 8 March, will be International Women’s Day and to mark this occasion and as part of the airline’s commitment of mainstreaming gender into its core business, the inaugural flight will be an All Women Operated Flight.

Flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departing Addis Ababa at 09h30, arriving in São Paulo at 17h10. From São Paulo flights will depart at 18h10, arriving in Buenos Aires at 19h40. The return service will depart Buenos Aires at 23h00, reaching São Paulo at 2h30, and again departing at 3h30, arriving in Addis Ababa at 20h30.
