France’s ‘millennial airline’ plans Seychelles flights

Air France’s new airline, Joon, which is aimed at millennial travellers has unveiled its first destinations to Mahe in Seychelles and Fortaleza in Brazil, effective from May next year.

Joon, which will initially begin flying to four short-haul cities in December – Barcelona, Berlin, Lisbon and Porto – before kicking off its long-haul routes.

In addition to announcing its routes, the new airline said single fares to European cities will open for sale starting from €39 (£34) and long-haul routes from €249 (£218). The will fly Airbus A320s for its short-haul flights and A340s and A350s for its long-haul services. Food and drink menus (serving organic and non-organic fare) and entertainment systems will be available on board.

The airline is being marketed as the airline of choice for those whose “lifestyles revolve around digital technology”, offering an “innovative and off-beat” option for its “young and connected” clientele.
