Mantis Group and Chōsen Experiences have partnered to offer a new kind of active, experiential wellness getaway, centred around a South African game lodge and led by local Olympian, Ryk Neethling.

The launch of the inaugural Chōsen Lifestyle Optimization Experience South Africa offers a rewarding new concept in wellness hospitality, it combines the proven Chōsen programme for personal evolution with access to the natural environment and wildlife conservation at Founders Lodge by Mantis, adjacent to Shamwari Game Reserve in South Africa.

Designed for an optimal state

Chōsen Experiences is a signature experiential learning programme, tailor-made to influence mental, physical and emotional development so guests can operate at their full potential. The week-long itinerary is aimed at achieving an optimal state of consciousness, fostering positive self-exploration, fitness and community connections.

Guided physical and cognitive activities are based on scientific research and designed by the Chōsen Life Optimization Architects: Olympic medalists, wellness doctors, nutritionists, strength and conditioning trainers, and professional coaches.

Led by an Olympic gold medalist

This South African experience is led by localhost Ryk Neethling, an Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer, who has forged a successful career in business and philanthropy as an entrepreneur, CEO of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation South Africa and an ambassador for both the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation and Hope Through Action.

Bringing together functional fitness, nutrition, mindfulness and adventure challenges with a curated group of individuals, the week provides a platform for self-improvement and shared knowledge. Being immersed in nature, while embracing the conservation principles, further enhances participants’ well-being, happiness and personal growth. It’s also a game-changer for the game lodge experience, allowing guests to enjoy guided safari drives to see Africa’s Big Five (elephant, lion, Cape buffalo, leopard and rhinoceros) while connecting with the environment on a more meaningful level.

Mantis is committed to conservation and putting their guests in touch with the natural world for a renewed perspective. “By harnessing Chōsen Experiences’ wellness expertise and research, our mission to establish a nurturing connection between humans and the environment comes to life in a tangible way,” says Paul Gardiner, Mantis CEO Beyond Africa.
