Mapula Lodge in the northern reaches of the Okavango Delta has undergone a full revamp with Uncharted Africa taking over the lodge management from April 2018.
Situated in a massive concession of over 220,000 acres, immediately to the north of the renowned Vumbura and Duba concessions, the lodge occupies an enviable position on a large, treed island at the edge of seasonal floodplains along the upper reaches of the famous Selinda Spillway. The lodge has 9 canvas and thatch tents, including 1 family tent. The newly upgraded main area features a comfy area to relax, a small library, dining area and a swimming pool. In front of the mess tent is a ‘’chill pit’’, a sunken area from which to look out over the lagoon or up at the night sky.
Activities on offer will include game drives, mokoros and boat safaris in an area rich with predators and an especially healthy wild dog population as well as the iconic Uncharted island sleep out. Uncharted will bring all the styles and standards they are famous for to this lodge and it will be managed by Jack’s Camp alumnus Eric.
