Amadeus Transfers has hit the South African market, enabling travel agents to not only deliver a superior service but also to boost their revenue earnings.

With Amadeus Transfers, travel agents can now offer their clients a one-stop-shop trip experience, while at the same time earning commission from transport providers who are eager to partner with them.

“When travelling globally or in Africa, reliable ground transport is one of the key considerations for travel companies and their travellers,” says Andy Hedley, GM Amadeus Southern Africa.

“Travellers today turn to their travel agents for a one-stop-shop trip solution including flights, accommodation and transfers. For travellers, pre-arranged transfers means fewer security headaches and peace of mind, as it eliminates the need to carry cash for ground transfers. They no longer have to wait in queues at stations or airports or run the gauntlet of rogue operators preying on unwary tourists and business executives.”

Transfers can be booked anywhere in the world as part of an itinerary or as a stand-alone booking via Amadeus Selling Platform Connect. Travel agents will be able to provide their travellers with a customisable mobile solution, while online operators will enjoy Amadeus Transfers’ customisable white label solution with a json/rest API. That means that even non-Amadeus travel agents can book transfers via https://transferbookingengine.com/default/

Amadeus Transfers launches in South Africa in partnership with EZ Shuttle. Guyck van Heerden, MD EZ Shuttle (Pty) Ltd., explains that for travel agents, the new Amadeus platform means a quicker booking process within the customers PNR.

Van Heerden explains: “Until now, transfers have always been a high-effort, low-reward component of the travel spend. This is mainly because transfers are booked over the phone or separately from the other trip components, which means the bookings are not confirmed in real-time and turnaround times are long. Amadeus Transfers will change this and will also expose travel agents to competitive commercial arrangements for transfer services.”

With an extensive fleet covering all major cities across South Africa, EZ Shuttle has over 130 vehicles on the road. The company also has plans for expansion to Namibia and other SADC countries in the near future.

In addition to EZ Shuttle, Amadeus Transfers also partners with global ground transfer companies such as Blacklane, Holiday Taxis, MYCAB Travel, Talixo, TaxiTender, and World Airport Transfer (a VELTRA Company), covering more than 1000 destinations in 142 markets.
