Air Seychelles has introduced major enhancements to its baggage policy to provide travellers with more choice and convenience when flying to and from its home base in Seychelles.
The policy has been redesigned to better fit the needs of individual guests and comes as part of the carrier’s introduction of Fare Choices, a transparent tariff structure launched in 2015 that simplifies the differences between fares to ensure guests pick the most appropriate option for their travel plans.
As part of the new policy, excess baggage charges have been reduced significantly and many routes now operate on a simpler piece concept, meaning guests have a set number of pieces of checked baggage, from one to two or three bags.
Highlights of the new baggage policy include an increase in the allowance in Business Class from 40kg to two pieces of baggage at 32kg per bag. In Economy Class, based on the Fare Choice, the baggage allowance can vary from one bag weighing 23kg to two bags of 23kg.
In addition to these benefits, the new baggage policy is aligned with those of member airlines of Etihad Airways Partners, such as Etihad Airways, meaning travellers who book codeshare flights benefit from the same baggage allowances.
Guests who are registered with Etihad Guest, the carrier’s frequent flier programme, based on their tier level, continue to enjoy baggage benefits with this policy upgrade, such as additional weight allowances and extra bags.
