Ethiopian Airlines has announced that the airline’s mobile application is now available in the Apple store as well as on Google Play.

Travellers are able to use the mobile app to book flights, check in, issue their boarding pass and self-board their flights. They can also check the status of their flights, get arrival and departure times and remain connected and informed throughout their journey in real-time.

Passengers originating from Addis Ababa will have the option to pay either through mobile payment or Internet banking. The airline has said this service provision will gradually replace the ticketing service that is being offered in Addis Ababa.

Says Group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, Tewolde GebreMariam: “As a customer-focused airline, we have been investing heavily in a comprehensive digitalisation of our organisational operating system and the overall passenger experience across the value chain. The mobile applications for iOS and Android devices will enable us to avail a high degree of personalised experience.”
