Kenya’s Freedom Airline Express has enhanced air transport to Garissa County following the introduction of daily flights, up from two weekly flights.
Manager for the airline, Shallow Abukar, said the company which operates a 50 seater plane decided to increase the frequency of the flights following the growing demand for air travel.
Garissa County government has lauded the move saying the initiative will attract more local and foreign investors to the region.
The flights are also expected to benefit patients who require emergency and specialized treatment in Nairobi and abroad.
The company also operates similar flights to and from Wajir, Mandera, Eldoret, Mombasa, Moyale, Takaba, Elwak and major towns in neighboring Somalia.
