National carrier Kenya Airways has been named the Best Airline Company in Kenya in 2017.
The airline, which serves Africa, Europe, Middle-East, Indian sub-continent, Asia and also plans non-stop direct flights to the United States later in the year, scoped the first award in the aviation sector category during the Jumia Travel Awards 2018 held at Fairmont the Norfolk, Nairobi.
The coveted awards feted winners who showed commitment to the travel and hospitality industry.

The awards are aimed at celebrating hoteliers, airlines, and travel websites for their contribution to the success of the travel, hospitality, and tourism industries in 2017, as well as to encourage provision of improved quality services to Kenyans.

Winners of the various categories were also awarded with several giveaways including free hotel stays. Kenya Airways gave out free air tickets to various winners.
This year, the awards were held in nine African cities including Algiers, Dakar, Abidjan, Accra, Douala, Dar es Salaam, Kampala, Kenya and Nigeria.
