Kigali, Rwanda is expected to celebrate the opening of the new Kigali Convention Centre next month.

The new facility valued at around US$300 million is among several major projects that the Rwandan government initiated to aid in boosting and growing the country’s tourism industry.

Once opened, the centre comprises a conference hall that can host up to 2 600 people seated and 4 600 people standing. Other facilities include exhibition foyers, 18 meeting rooms and a large conference room accommodating up to 800 people that can also be divided into six rooms.

The convention centre has 36 800 square-metre floor area.

The convention centre also includes a 292-roomed five-star Radisson Blu Hotel, three restaurants, cafes and bars.
