Malawi government launches online visa applications

Malawi’s Immigration Department has confirmed that the country will introduce online visa applications at the end November.

According to the department’s spokesperson, Joseph Chauwa, the introduction of online visa applications is a milestone in the country’s history.

“Our partners Technobrain are working round the clock to ensure the facility is rolled-out by the end of November,” he said.

He added that the contractor is ensuring that the system will be the best and that visitors to the country will now be able to apply, pay and get their visas in the comfort of their home, office or wherever they may be.

In addition, the country the Ministry of Tourism, will reduce visa fees following several requests from visitors that visa fees were too high.
