FCTG SA CFO Euan McNeil takes the reins as Managing Director
The Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) has announced Euan McNeil will be taking over the reins from Andrew Stark as Managing Director for South Africa.

McNeil has worked alongside Stark for the past six years as a senior executive and the group’s Chief Financial Officer for the Middle East and Africa. Together with the leadership team, McNeil has worked closely with Stark to rebuild the business and continue serving customers over the pandemic, going on to deliver record-breaking results, both pre and post COVID-19.
Prior to that, McNeil was General Manager for FCM South Africa, one of FCTG’s corporate brands, and tripled the volume of business for FCM over his three-year tenure at the helm.
Commenting on his new appointment, McNeil said: “Andrew Stark has built incredible foundations for the Flight Centre Travel Group during this hugely disruptive time for the travel industry. He has been an inspirational leader who has positioned the group as South Africa’s experts in corporate and leisure travel. I’m thrilled to continue to build on the legacy Andrew has created for FCTG and look forward to an exciting new era of growth and innovation in both business and leisure travel.”
Stark has been appointed to the newly created role of Global Managing Director for the flagship Flight Centre leisure brand. For this role, Stark will relocate from South Africa to Brisbane, overseeing the Flight Centre brand in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom and Canada.

He said: “After nearly seven years as MD for FCTG South Africa, I’m excited and humbled to take up a new position as part of the Flight Centre global leadership team.”
According to Stark, FCTG South Africa couldn’t be in better hands than under McNeil’s leadership. He said: “I am pleased to pass the baton to a trusted and competent colleague with whom I have had the pleasure to work with for many years. Euan joined FCTG in September 2013 and was quickly identified as someone who can lead operations, bring out the best in a team and produce excellent results.
Euan lives the dynamic Flight Centre culture and is a natural successor and charismatic leader who will take the business to new heights. I wish him and team South Africa all the best in the coming years.”
McNeil is 36 years old and holds a BCom Honours degree from the University of Johannesburg.
