Nigeria’s AKWAABA kicks off on 10 September

The AKWAABA African Travel Market kicks off on 10 September in Lagos, with a range of events and experiences on offer for tourism professionals visiting the Nigerian city.

In addition to a Youth in Tourism Conference bringing the youth in tourism together to help prime them for travel and tourism business roles, there is also a Chef Challenge and food fair showcasing the cuisine of Nigeria to an international audience. The event will see chefs from Ghana, Gambia and Nigeria compete in a Jollof rice challenge and 36 Nigerian states compete for the title of Best Main Meal.

Travel professionals hailing from airlines, hotels, restaurants, tour operators, travel agents and tourism boards will have an opportunity to meet face to face on Victoria Island from 10 to 12 September, with the second Africa Travel and Tourism Conference taking place on the 11th addressing such topics as “What did Africa do right?” and “women in tourism”.

The three-day business-to-business event will showcase a range of African destinations to international travel and tourism professionals and is the 13th edition of this event.
