Send your parents packing

2 min read

Think of the person who has had the biggest impact on your life? Is it your parents, your high school science teacher or your best friend’s mother?

How would you thank them for the positive influence they have been? With a box of chocolates, perhaps a nice spa voucher or maybe even dinner at a fancy Italian restaurant?

No, says Insight Vacations, send them packing instead.

“The best way to thank your role models for everything they’ve done for you is to gift them with the trip of a lifetime to Italy. You can make this possible by entering the Pay Back Your Parents* competition,” says Teresa Richardson, managing director for The Travel Corporation.

It’s really simple – join the TTC Luxurious Collection SA Agents Facebook group. Make a creative, quirky, out-of-the-box video or a photo with your story nominating your role model and why they should win this prize.  Then post your video or story on the Facebook group, wait for judging day and if you win the title of ‘Favourite Child’ will be yours forever!

“The people nominated don’t have to appear on your birth certificate to qualify, they can be your role model of choice (aunt, uncle, favourite high school teacher, someone you look up to who has guided you throughout your life) but no you cannot nominate your best buddy,” Teresa adds.

The prize is a trip for two on Insight Vacations 8-day Italian Intermezzo tour and include a R10 000 flight contribution. The Italian Intermezzo includes all accommodation with breakfast daily, three dinners and 15 included experiences such as dinner at L’antica Riva on Lake Como and VIP access to the Vatican City. This trip takes in Milan, Lake Como, Verona, Venice, Pisa, Florence, Assisi, Rome and the Vatican City. Visit this page for the full set of T’s and C’s.

“I am looking forward to seeing some really creative entries and the sky’s the limit” concludes Teresa.
