Visas for Nigeria now ready within 48hrs

1 min read

Travellers to Nigeria will soon be able to acquire business or tourism visas within 48 hours, a spokesperson for the Nigerian Consulate General has said.

He explained applicants can apply for visas online and submit all supporting documents and payments to the High Commission in Pretoria where they’ll also be able to pick up their passports after the visas have been issued.

This new development forms part of the Nigerian government’s 60-day plan to ease visa requirements for all international travellers. In a statement, Minister of Information and Culture Alhaji Lai Mohammed said: The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has reviewed the requirements for Nigerian visas to make them more customer friendly.”

The minister added that government forms travellers receive to fill in at airport arrival and departure will also be streamlined into one single form to reduce frustration amongst travellers.

More information can be found on the NIS official website, www.immigration. gov.ng.
